Iron Lion in Rimini

In the 1920’s and ’30s special summer camps – colonie were built along the coast, by the fascist authorities, where children would be sent for the summer, to enjoy the sea air, live a healthy life, and get a healthy dose of Fascist propaganda.

You have to chuckle then, passing by the ruins of one such colonia, Murri, in Bellariva, to see a beautiful bit of street art, in the form of the Lion of Judah – the universal symbol of Rastafarianism, painted on the wooden fences outside.

Iron Lion in Zion - actually in Rimini
