Trabucchi Fishing Nets off Rimini’s Molo Levante

Trabucchi, traditional lift nets for fishing, are often associated with the coast of Abruzzo (Costa dei Trabocchi), or the Gargano region, but there are plenty of them peppered around Emilia-Romagna, like this picturesque fishing cabin at the end of Rimini’s Molo Levante.

These fishing cabins are found throughout the coastal and estuary areas of Emilia-Romagna - for example, the Comacchio area is particularly famous for them. Often collectively owned by groups of friends, the fishermen go there at weekends, fish, and then dine together on their catch.
