Notte Rosa 2014 officially presented

The 9th edition of The Notte Rosa was presented this morning publicly in Milan, by the Assesore for Tourism for Rimini province, Fabio Galli, along with Rimini’s mayor Andrea Gnassi.

The theme for this year’s festival, which will take place between the 4th and 6th of July, is Passion, and it is represented in particular by the image of Francesca da Rimini.

A wonderful illustration, by noted designer Marco Morosini, of two lovers, referencing William Dyce and il Bacco by Caravaggio, is the official poster for the Notte Rosa 2014. The lovers link the past and the present, clearly reminding the viewer of the famous story of Francesca da Rimini and Paolo’s damning kiss, while at the same time referencing the present with tattoos and a great set of headphones.

Talking about this edition of the huge festival – also known as the Summer’s New Year’s Eve party (Capo d’Anno del’Estate) – Galli said: “We’re at the ninth edition of the Notte Rosa, and it’s obvious that this year finishes a cycle, one which coincides with the strong and decisive support guaranteed by the Province of Rimini. I’m convinced that, outisde of any organisational restructuring, this must remain in the future the main event for the entire Rimini system, because of its ability to bring hundreds of thousands of tourists, its promotional return, and the fresh image that at this stage is unrivalled in Italy.”

Amongst the artists lined up for the mega event are Negramaro, Francesco Renga, Elisa, Raffaele Paganini and Annarosa Petri, Andrea Mingardi, Nobraino and Umberto Smaila.
