Internet Access

I am moving to Rimini for about 5 months to play baseball. The apartment that is set up for me will not provide any internet service. How and where can I find free internet service? Internet will be crucial for me because I will have no phone while in Rimini. Thanks for the help.

Rimini Comune (Town Council) are currently running a pilate wi-fi access scheme. If you have a laptop, it means you can go to the Gambalunga library, and access the internet free.

You'll need to register with the library, obtaining a membership card (tessera). This can be done in person at the library. Internet access is free, but subject to certain restrictions (no file-sharing, no spamming, no visiting objectionable sites). Be aware also that facilities that provide internet access in Italy are bound by law to register your details as part of anti-terrorism measures.

The Gambalunga library is in Via Gambalunga #27 tel. 0541.51105 (close to Piazza Cavour and Piazza Ferrari). It's opening hours are Mon-Fri 8.00-19.00, Saturday 8.00-13.00 (the times are reduced during the summer to 8.00-13.00)

If the wi-fi scheme doesn't suit, there are a number of internet cafe's dotted around the city centre, and along the seafront.
