We're a group of ladies coming to Rimini in September, and would like to enjoy a day's golfing. Where can we get more information?

Visit Rimini is currently preparing pages with information on the wide variety of sporting facilities in and around Rimini. In the meantime, though, we've some information that will hopefully be of use to you.

A useful resource for Golfers visiting Emilia Romagna can be found at www.emiliaromagnagolf.it. This is a site put together with the support of the Italian tourist board and the Emilia Romagna Province and has descriptions of the various courses in the province, as well as links to individual course websites.

The closest club to Rimini is the Rimini Golf Club, situated just outside the city on the road to Sant Ermete and Villa Verucchio. The club has an extensive website, sadly though just in Italian. The club has an 18 hole course designed by American Brian M. Silva, as well as an executive 7hole course (6 par three holes, and one par 4). Green fees for a day's golf run between €50 and €65 according to information on the club's website.

Further afield, there is the Riviera golf club, just outside Cattolica. The course was designed by Luigi Rota Caremoli. The club has extensive health and fitness facilities as well as golf. It has an italian/english language website, including a nicely designed virtual tour of the club's course and facilities at www.rivieragolf.it, though no green fee prices are on display.

Another option, though further away again,up the coast towards Ravenna, is the Cervia Golf Club. The club's course is on 100 hectares, and consists of 27 holes. The first 9 are in a typical scottish link style,while the second 9 follow the classic north american models. Green fees range from €38 for 9holes up to €75 for the full 27 hole course. The club has an excellent english language site at www.golfcervia.com
