Free guided tour of the City Museum and Domus del Chirugo


From Sat 1st August 2009 through to Fri 13th August 2010- Domus del Chirugo

For the month of August, and through to the 13th of September, visitors to Rimini's City Museum and the Domus del Chirugo, every tuesday and friday can avail of a special free one hour guided tour.

The combined admission ticket for the City Museum and the Domus costs &3euro;.

Rimini's City Museum, located in the 18th Century former Jesuit College has a unique and fascinating collection, including many of the roman artefacts uncoverd in the Domus, works from Rimini's 14th century renaissance school of painters, right up to the 20th century and the works of Rene Gruau.

The Domus del Chirugo in Rimini's Piazza Ferrari is one of the best preserved roman sites in Italy. Recently opened to the public, housed in a magnificent visitor's centre, the so called Surgeon's House - also often referred to as a miniature pompeii - has wonderful mosaics, and allows the visitor to step back in time to an authentic roman villa.
